Being in a park, there are many native birds around (ie: Magpies), and being Brodburger there are many, many people dropping crumbs. Apparently some of the magpies aren't content to settle for crumbs, and they've taken to stealing the burger right out of your hands. Some will fly in over your shoulder from behind you, nab whatever they can get their beak/claws onto, and run off. One or two have actually taken to divebombing the burger in an attempt to wrest it from your hands.
